OUTFIT POST: IN THE NAVY

It's been a while since I did an outfit post, so here's a look at one of the outfits I wore for the small handful of shows I attended during LFW. It was a quiet season for me because my summer was occupied with job hunting, so ticket requests took a backseat. Turns out, it's really enjoyable having a low-key schedule and I've also accepted an exciting new job working in fashion (I can't wait to share more on here when I get started!), so it was worthwhile sacrifice.

I am in a navy mood at the moment, so expect to lots more of it on the blog this autumn/winter, starting with this sleeveless blazer...

I'm not going to lie, the price of this blazer was STEEP. After trying it on in Cos on a whim, I Instagrammed a picture and received some encouraging comments from my fashionable followers. Then I checked the price tag (£150) and wept. Spending over £150 on one garment is out of the question for me, my wages just cannot stretch to price points over £100.

So then I went away and all I could think about was the blazer, I even dreamt about the blazer [fashion addict]. The solution? Ebay everything I own, and after a serious wardrobe detox I managed to raise the funds to buy my dream jacket. On reflection, I'm really pleased with purchase because I've seen it on a few fashion editors since, and I can't wait to wear it layered over knits and roll necks when the temperature bites. For fashion week I chose to style it with a simple white buttoned-up shirt, which in hindsight I should have rolled the sleeves up of - cotton get extremely crumpled!

My bag is a new purchase from Warehouse - it's a leather and comes in lots of different colours - a great high street buy. I'm also flashing my new Anna Lou of London necklace which I am completely in love with. When it comes to monogramming, I'm fussing about typography, and the clean and simple font used on this disc pendant is perfect. I finished the look with my treasured tortoiseshell Prada sunglasses from McArthurGlen - they are on Net-a-porter at the moment for £215 but I got mine for £130 from the David Clulow outlet from Chesire Oaks - so worth a visit! Oh and I've had a haircut - a long blunt bob courtesy of Senior Art Director Ollie from Headmasters Soho. I'm loving a shorter, fresher length, thank you HM!

  2. Loving the new hair! The blazer was well worth the wardrobe clear out, it's gorgeous on you and such a classic piece that you'll be wearing for years. The little necklace is so cute too, I'm obsessed with all things monogrammed! x
