HOW I WEAR MY BAUKJEN LEATHER MINI SKIRT

The December sales are in full swing and with just about every retailer getting involved, it's hard to know where to begin.  My tip? Look for wear-forever buys that you will wear now and well into 2016. I'm avoiding anything remotely 70s inspired, sequinned or bohemian in favour of simple, classic pieces. A perfect example of this is this amazing leather skirt, that's just gone into sale.

Leather is the definition of a smart sale buy. An expensive investment it may be, however leather stands the test of time, becoming more beautiful with each wear. Even better, you rarely have to dry clean leather pieces, great for lazy girls like myself! I've had my eye on this amazing Bartley leather skirt from Baukjen for a while, available in the slate grey that I'm wearing here and a beautiful burgundy hue, down from £329 to £197 in the sale which is an amazing saving for leather. It's butter-soft and feels like wearing nothing (!), with leather the more you pay the softer the it is to touch. If you're pear shaped like myself A-line is also a super-flattering shape. I've worn mine with a polo neck and opaque tights here, but it would also look great with a chambray shirt and bare legs in the summer months (although it's almost warm enough to go bare legged right now thanks to our freakishly warm December!).

  1. It's so hard to find the right fit of leather skirt. I think the shine of it can sometimes make the shape look weird but I'm continuously on the hunt!
