MY LITTLE PONY HAIR HANDBAG

I love anything pony hair, its unique selling point is that it can add a touch of luxury to any ensemble. And this season it looks set to be the fashionista's du jour choice for accessories, with all the big brands bringing out ponyhair totes, pumps and belts. The BEST OF THE ROYAL REST...

A quick round up of my favourite outfits from what proved to be, on the whole, a wonderfully stylish celebration of British fashion.

Victoria Beckham demonstrated how to do pregnancy chic in a midnight blue tunic dress from AW11 collection, paired with a striking Phillip Treacey hat and sky-high Louboutins. Although I'm not entirely sold on the hat, what I enjoyed about VB's choice was the fact it was understated and demure; her tunic elegantly skimmed her baby bump and took maternity wear to a whole new level of chic.

Proving there is an alternative to the meringue shaped monstrosities most bridesmaids are lumbered with, Pippa Middleton looked the picture of elegance in her Sarah Burton cowl neck form fitting white dress. I applaud Kate's brave choice to dress her bridesmaids in white, which in my opinion is much chicer than picking a contrasting accent colour. I've never seen Pippa looking quite as beautiful as she did today, she was the picture of grace, elegance and modernity.

The fashion press are criticising Samantha Cameron for opting not to accessorise her outfit with headwear, but I personally feel going fascinator free is not a fashion faux-pas. Especially when you see just how badly wrong a fascinator can look, sorry Beatrice and Eugenie. Samantha championed British fashion in her fabulous Burberry teal shift dress, accessorised with a daring orange accessories. I love everything about Samantha's look, it's pitch perfect right down to her nude platform sandals.

KATE MIDDLETON THE FASHION QUEEN

So The Times' secret source that revealed Sarah Burton was to design the royal wedding dress two months ago proved to be a reliable one, as Kate Middleton married her Prince today in a breath takingly beautiful Sarah Burton creation. Fashion reporters have been drawing comparisons between Kate's lace sleeved gown with that worn by moviestar Grace Kelly for her wedding to Prince Ranier III of Monaco. The full-skirted 1950s shape also instantly reminded me of Queen Elizabeth II's 1947 gown designed by Norman Hartnell. By drawing inspiration from such enduring fashion icons, Sarah Burton cleverly managed to create a dress fit for modern monarch.

Accessorised with a Cartier 1936 tiara ('something borrowed' from the Queen, no less), and a hand-embroidered silk tulle veil, Kate chose accessories that complemented her gown perfectly. On the day she joined the royal family, Kate Middleton was rather fittingly crowned the fashion Queen.

MCQUEEN'S SARAH BURTON TO DESIGN THE ROYAL WEDDING DRESS?

The Sunday Times newspaper is today reporting that head designer at Alexander Mcqueen, Sarah Burton, has been selected to design the royal wedding dress. The fashion rumour mill has it that chief executive of the Mcqueen label, Jonathan Akeroyd, reportedly told a colleague that the company had got the commision. Sarah Burton has been Mcqueen's head designer for 14 years, and this year designed a striking red dress worn by Michelle Obama.

So if the rumours are to be believed, this is quite an exciting choice of designer by Kate Middleton. Unlike the safe and predictable choice of an Issa dress for the engagement photocall, Mcqueen is a high-fashion, high-impact brand credited with designing iconic statement dresses for some of world's top fashionistas.



Having done a spot of googling of wedding dresses designed by the Mcqueen label, I came across the above incredible gown worn by fashion writer Plum Sykes. And I have to say, I can imagine Kate looking truly divine in a creation such as this. Looks like this could be a fashion marriage made in heaven...

MODA IN PELLE LOVES LA FASHION FOLIE BLOGSPOT!

I am very proud to announce that one of the hottest footwear brands on the high street, Moda in Pelle, have given Lafashionfolie blogspot their fashionable seal of approvable.

DO YOU BELIEBE IN HIS 'N' HERS FASHION?

I could do a serious post about the Oscars fashion here, analysing the style winners (Mandy Moore, Anne Hathaway and Hailee Steinfeld are my top 3) and losers (sorry Madonna) but since the fashion press have already analysed the minutiae details of the night's looks, I'm choosing to blog about... Justin Bieber. Yes, pop's young dream Justin Bieber was at the Vanity Fair Oscars do last night, stepping out publicly for the first time with his stunning new beau Selena Gomez. Had I been 5 years younger this would probably have induced insane jealously within me, but since I'm 22 and not a brain-washed American teen, the real issue raised for me by their appearance was their choice of his'n'hers Dolce and Gabbana matching outfits; Selena's pillar box read plunging gown perfectly co-ordinated with Biebers pocket-handkercheif. I have to say, as I rule I dispise his and hers fashion, it's so cheesy and contrived and no match for two well dressed individuals. But, dare I say it, there's something out this Hollywood couple's his and her looks that just works, namely because the outfits still reflect their personal styles, or maybe because they just look cute as a button when styled together? So is his and hers fashion ever acceptable? Well as Justin and Selena prove, you should never say never (sorry!)
