SIX OF THE BEST: POINTED FLATS FOR AW13

The power of a pointed shoe - it can make just about every ensemble look polished; even a distressed and slouchy pair of boyfriend jeans. LFF loves a pointed flat for running around town on day-to-day business - a good-quality leather pair will offer comfort without comprising on style. Pointed slippers will continue to be a key trend for fall, I love Jemima Vine's pair (2.) which combine another major AW trend - animal prints - with a sharp-toed shape. For budget options head to Zara who, in my opinion, are offering the best shoes on the high street at the moment. Will you be picking up a pair of pointed flats for the new season?

THE BEST STATEMENT HEELS FOR SS13

This post was intially meant to be a standard LFF Six of the best: post, but as is often the way with shoes, I got carried away during my edit and ended up featuring eight. Unfortunately 'Eight of the best:' doesn't have quite the same ring to it does it?

In case you've been living under a rock, you will know that the AW13 fashion weeks kick off today in New York, and with it will come the obligatory and fascinating coverage of street style outside the shows. One sure-fire way to catch the attention of Tommy Ton et al is to ramp up the fashion quota of your look with a bold statement-making pair of heels. In the designer world, the go-to girl for the coolest, nattiest of designs is Sophia Webster (number 1.), trust me, she is about to go stratospheric on the sartorial scene! On the high street, no-one (in my humble opinion) can compete with ASOS' SS13 offering, from metallics through to colour blocking and pastel hues, the online retailer have got it covered. Pick any of the below, and you won't put a fashionable foot wrong on the street style parade:

LFF REVIEWS THE STYLISTPICK SERVICE

When I was offered the opportunity to review the Stylistpick service, I was a little over-excited. Having worked in the head office of a high street footwear brand, I like to think of myself as a shoe connisseur (although I'm definitely no expert) and I couldn't wait to have my very own pair of Stylistpick shoes.

Shoes aside, what I really liked about the Stylistpick service was the attention to detail. My shoes arrived on my office desk a very punctual 3 days after I placed my order (that was standard delivery) and came in a stylish carrier bag inside the delivery box. This was clever stuff- the number of times I've struggled home with a shoe box after getting my online shopping delivered to the office is countless. Inside the bag I discovered another lovely detail- a polaroid picture with a picture of my 'Rosie' sandals; perfect for the organised shoe collector. Then I pulled out the shoebox inside to discover it was wrapped with a pretty bow- it's these adorable little details that make all the difference.

And finally, my thoughts on my hessian-detail 'Rosie' sandals inside? Well, they look much more expensive than their price tag and I haven't seen anything similar on the high street. And the best bit? We finally have some sandal-appropriate weather! Perfect.

HAVE YOU DISCOVERED STYLIST PICK YET?

I fear I may be slightly slow on the uptake with this one, but I've only just discovered the new online shopping destination stylistpick.com. The concept is very interesting, unlike conventional shopping websites, Stylistpick invites members to take a style quiz and then celebrity stylists handpick pieces they think suit your tastes.

The catch? Well it's not exactly a catch, but you have to become a member of stylistpick for a £39.95 monthly subscription fee, but for that fee you can pick one accessory from the site per month (£39.95 for a pair of high-fashion shoes is a bit of a bargain if you ask me). Perhaps my only criticism would be that the selection of shoes and accessories on the site is a bit limited at the moment, but hopefully that will change with time.

However, with collection designed by celeb shoeaholic Cheryl Cole and leading stylists Grace Woodward (last year's X Factor stylist) and Louise Rowe (TV presenter and former ELLE magazine fashion journalist) on board it's looks like Stylistpick has all the necessary ingredients for a style success. Still not convinced? Take a look at some of Lafashionfolie's favourite shoes from the site...

1. Daphine black cut out wedge, £39.95. 2. Cheryl Cole's Glam Slam disco ball sandals, £79.90. 3. Selma platform shoe boot, £39.95.

MODA IN PELLE S/S12 PRESS DAY

On Monday I hotfooted it to the Oui Rooms post work for the Moda in Pelle S/S12 Press Day. Moda in Pelle is the go-to brand for celebrities looking for red carpet worthy heels; X Factor judge Tulisa, the TOWIE girls and Jessie J are all fans of the brand.

So what does Moda predict it's celebrity following will be wearing for the forthcoming season?

The glitz glam 'Hollywood Heroines' range takes inspiration from the glamourous starlets of the late 50's and 60's, creating a red-carpet worthy collection that is sure to satisfy Moda's celebrity fans. The dazzling sequin and diamante encrusted courts and peep toes were the highlight of the press day for me, what girl wouldn't dream about owning a pair of these?

For beachwear, Moda are predicting Jelly shoes will still be a big trend, and I love how the brand have added their signature glitz/glam to their versions with luxe diamante detailing.

1970's fashion is still a key trend in Moda in Pelle's S/S12 collection, so there's no to need to relegate your platform heels from your wardrobe just yet! This amazing pair called 'Petty' were the stand out style in the range for me; the sky-high heel, flash of gold and coral suede recreate the Studio 54 look. I wouldn't be suprised if Tulisa is the first to snap up a pair.

Another great style with that seventies feel were these stunning striped block heel peep toes in bright coral and electric blue, surely another perfect style for celebs looking to impress on the red carpet. I expect to see lots of press coverage of this style come spring/summer.

There was so much more to love in the collection my post could go on forever, but instead I'll direct you to shop the current Moda in Pelle collection here.

THE PURR-FECT LOUBOUTINS

The Daily Mail online has run a story today about Gossip Girl's Blake Lively stepping out in a pair of Christian Louboutin 'lion paw' heels. The feline-inspired furry courts come complete with raised toe sections with jewelled claws to mimic the look of a lion's paw. The new style of Louboutin are fast becoming a celeb must-have, having been pictured on fashion icon Sarah Jessica Parker in August.

What do you think of Blake's unusual choice of footwear? I'm personally a massive fan and pro any designer pioneering quirky, original trends. Get your paws on a pair of Louboutins at net-a-porter.com!

MODA IN PELLE LOVES LA FASHION FOLIE BLOGSPOT!

I am very proud to announce that one of the hottest footwear brands on the high street, Moda in Pelle, have given Lafashionfolie blogspot their fashionable seal of approvable.

I'll let you into a little secret as to why here; I undertook a 1 year internship at Moda in Pelle office during my degree, where I met some of the most glamourous girls working in fashion. The girls working in the HQ in Leeds really are the perfect ambassadors for the brand, wearing impossibly glam heels for work everyday. Working with such stylish ladies opened my eyes to the wonders of heels after years spent devoted to flats. So it's thanks to MIP girls that I now have a wardrobe full of platforms, heeled courts, stilettoes, wedges, the list goes on!

My favourite style in Moda's current collection are definitely the gorgeous blush-coloured suede Pollyanna wegdes below. Pefect for nailing this season's seventies trend, Pollyanna will look seriously stylish teamed with an on-trend pair of flared trousers. Add a touch of Moda magic to your wardrobe and snap up these beauties for £89.95 at Modainpelle.com today.
