AW13 TREND ALERT: YELLOW

One of LFF's favourite colour trends to emerge from the AW13 catwalks was the new-season yellow: bold, sunny and bright.

Unlike SS13's acid-bright yellows, Fall's shade is a true primary colour. My favourite interpretation of the trend was seen across the pond in the Victoria Beckham collection, where the shade was described as a 'New York taxi cab yellow'. VB's inspiration mood board for AW13 also featured an image of double yellow lines and I now I can't stop looking at road markings and thinking how on-trend they suddenly appear! 

Other collections that used yellow to super-cool effect were Sass & Bide where wide-leg tailored pants were styled with sharp-shouldered monochrome jackets and Kate Spade New York where proceedings had an 80s feel thanks to oversize pussy-bows and tweedy fabrics. 

Yellow is also a fabulous shade for spring/summer, so investing now would be a smart move. Here are 3 buys with plenty of fashion mileage that will work for both now and AW:
